Wake Forest continues is road trip this Wednesday as it heads to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face Michigan in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Crisler Arena. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

The Demon Deacons are coming off a successful Thanksgiving weekend at the WBCA Classic in South Bend, Ind. Wake downed a veteran Butler team 86-81 in overtime to start the classic before falling to No. 16 Notre Dame on day two. The Deacons then closed the weekend with a convincing 63-33 victory over IUPUI.

Wake is averaging over 84 points per game this season and are out-scoring its opponents by more than 25 points per contest. A reason for the early season offensive success can be found on the defensive end. The Deacons have forced a total of 158 turnovers and have turned them into 191 points.

Sophomore center Sandra Garcia leads the Deacons with an average of 12.3 points per game. She is also grabbing nearly seven rebounds per contest and has pulled-down 20 offensive boards. Freshman Chelsea Douglas has had a good start to her collegiate career, averaging 12.2 points per game through the first six games. Douglas is 19-of-20 (.950) from the free throw line, which is tops in the ACC.

Michigan comes into the game with a 3-3 record overall. The Wolverines have posted wins over Alcorn State, Indiana State and Buffalo.

Senior guard Veronica Hicks tops the team at 10.7 points per game. She also is averaging 4.3 rebounds per game and has a team-high 24 assists. Sophomore Jenny Ryan leads the team on the glass with 30 total rebounds.

Wednesday's game will be the first all-time meeting between Michigan and Wake Forest.
