Whitlock Named to Freshman All-America Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest nose tackle Nikita Whitlock (Wylie, Texas) has been named to the Rivals.com Freshman All-America second team.
The 5-11, 235-pound redshirt freshman started all 12 games for the Demon Deacons in 2010 and finished eighth on the team with 44 tackles including 20 solo stops. He was third on the club with 10.5 tackles for loss and second on the team with 3.0 sacks.
The Wylie, Texas native recorded three pass break-ups, two quarterback hurries and forced two fumbles.
Rivals' first team Freshman All-America defensive tackles were Roosevelt Nix of Kent State and Akeem Spence of Illinois. Whitlock was joined on the second team by Justin Washington of Arizona.
