Men's Soccer Announces 2010 Recruiting Class

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's soccer program has added eight players in its 2010 recruiting class, as announced on Tuesday by head coach Jay Vidovich.
The 2010 class includes Kofi Agyapong, Chris Duvall, Kyle Emerson, Tolani Ibikunle, Ryan Metts, Justin Orden, Ross Tomaselli and Jared Watts.
Agyapong, Emerson, Orden and Watts enrolled in school in January and are currently practicing with the team. The other four recruits will arrive on campus during the summer of 2010.
Kofi Agyapong - F - 5-8 - 138 - North Salem, N.Y. (St. Luke's School)
Enrolled in Wake Forest in January and is practicing with the team ...Named a first team All-American by ESPN Rise ... Scored 32 goals and eight assists during the 2009 season ... Helped his team to a league and tournament championship in 2009 ... Three-time All-State and All-Fairfield Athletic Association selection ... Twice named to the All-adidas ODP team ... Named high school player of the year at St. Luke's in 2007, 2008 and 2009 ... Born December 25, 1992 in Ghana ... Son of Tom and Nancy Clark.
Vidovich on Agyapong: "Kofi is a very dynamic player. Once he learns to play at this pace and deal with the athleticism of the ACC, he has the traits and potential to decide games."
Chris Duvall - M - 5-10 - 150 - Duluth, Ga. (Wesleyan School)
Four-year letterwinner at the Wesleyan School where he scored 29 goals and 29 assists ... Earned honorable mention All-American honors from ESPN Rise ... Member of adidas ESP All-Star team in 2009 ... Named All-County in 2008 and 2009 ... Earned Wesleyan School MVP honors in 2009 and won the school's coaches award in 2007-08 ... Plays his club soccer for Concorde Fire ... Recently named U.S. Soccer Development Academy player of the week ... Member of Georgia State ODP from 2005-09 ... Won three club state championships with GSA from 2004-2006 ... Also ran cross country in high school and owns the second best 5K time in school history (16.09) ... Born September 10, 1991 ... Son of Derrell and Darlene Duvall ... Brother, Cristan, ran cross country and track and field at Georgia Tech from 2003-08.
Vidovich on Duvall: "We feel really good about Chris. He's very dynamic. He has good pace and is good on the ball. He can attack. He has a winning attitude. He plays both sides of the ball. We're excited about adding him to the team."
Kyle Emerson - M - 5-9 - 170 - Cypress, Texas (Cypress Woods High School)
Enrolled in Wake Forest in January and is practicing with the team ... MVP of high school team in 2007 ... Named an adidas ESP All-Star in 2009 ... Ranked as a top 100 recruit in the class of 2010 according to Top Drawer Soccer ... Played club soccer with the Dallas Texans ... Club team won the Disney Soccer Showcase championship in 2006 and 2008 ... Participated in Olympic Development Program in 2005, 2006 and 2007 ... Born May 1, 1992 ... Son of Brent and Monica Emerson.
Vidovich on Emerson: "Kyle is another player that we feel has a tremendous amount of potential. He has a very clean touch. He's just as fast with the ball as he is without it. He's very capable of running the center of the midfield. He has a good feel for the game. He can make goals and get goals for himself."
Tolani Ibikunle - D - 5-10 - 156 - Wynnewood, Pa. (St. Joseph's Prep)
Four-year letterwinner at St. Joseph's Prep ... Scored 19 goals and 21 assists in high school career ... Earned first team All-Philadelphia Catholic League and All-State honors as a junior and senior ... Also named first team All-Area following senior year ... Named second team All-Philadelphia Catholic League as a sophomore ... Born May 2, 1992 ... Son of Ade and Tayo Ibikunle.
Vidovich on Ibikunle: "Tolani is someone that we think we'll play a big factor in our future. He has an athletic presence and a very competitive presence on the field. We think he has tremendous growth potential and will be a big factor on the field for us."
Ryan Metts - M - 5-10 - 155 - Raleigh, N.C. (Wakefield High School)
Three-year letterwinner at Wakefield High School ... Named an ESPN Rise All-American ... Has scored 26 goals and 33 assists during high school career ... Earned adidas/NSCAA Youth All-American honors in 2008 ... Named to NSCAA All-State and All-South region teams in 2009 ... Twice named to All-Conference team and was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection ... Ranked as the 23rd best recruit in the country in the class of 2010 according to Top Drawer Soccer ... Selected to play in the East-West North Carolina All-Star Game and the North Carolina-South Carolina Clash of the Carolinas game ... Named to the adidas ESP All-Star team ... Justin Orden - M/F - 5-8 - 157 - Scarsdale, N.Y. (Edgemont High School)
Enrolled in Wake Forest in January and is practicing with the team ... Named a first team All-American by ESPN Rise ... Has seen time with the U.S. U17 national team ... Ranked as a top 100 recruit in the class of 2010 by Top Drawer Soccer ... Two-time All-State selection and a four-time All-League player ... Named 2009 League and Sectional Player of the Year ... Led New York state in goals and points in 2009, scoring 34 goals and 71 points ... Scored 74 goals in high school from 2007-09 ... Holds the school record for career goals at Edgemont High School ... Member of USSF National Pool from 2005-08 ... Participated on the bronze medal winning United States team at the 2009 Maccabiah Games ... Member of New York state and Region I ODP team ... Also played lacrosse in high school, earning two varsity letters ... Named a 2009 National Merit Scholar ... Born April 14, 1992 ... Son of Stewart and Bonnie Orden.

Ross Tomaselli - M - 5-9 - 145 - Wilmington, N.C. (New Hanover High School)
Two-year letterwinner at New Hanover High School ... Tallied 32 goals and 56 assists during high school career, including a single-season record of 36 assists in 2008 ... Team compiled a 35-7-4 record over his two seasons ... Saw time with the U14, U15 and U16 U.S. National Teams ... Named an NSCAA High School All-American in 2009 ... Vidovich on Tomaselli: "Ross is an interesting player in that we think he has a lot of soccer to him. He's very clean on the ball. He loves the game and is very passionate about it. As with most of these guys, the question is can he make the transition to play in the athletic and competitive environment of the ACC."
Jared Watts - M/D - 6-1 - 155 - Statesville, N.C. (Bradenton Preparatory Academy)
Enrolled in Wake Forest in January and is practicing with the team ... Has extensive international experience, seeing time with the U17 and U20 U.S. Youth National Teams ... Played and was a captain with the U.S. U17 team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Nigeria ... Named an NSCAA/adidas Youth All-American in 2008 and 2009 ... Ranked as the 17th best recruit in the country in the class of 2010 according to Top Drawer Soccer ... Member of National Honor Society ... Born February 3, 1992 ... Son of Steve and Sherry Watts.
Vidovich on Watts: "Jared brings a lot of different things to our program. He brings a leadership aspect to the team. He's a model student. He was captain of the U17 national team. He has a boatload of experience and we think he'll be able to help us out in the middle of the park in a holding midfield spot."
