WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore forward Al-Farouq Aminu has been named third team All-America by FoxSports.com and by CBSSports.com. Aminu has also been named to the USBWA All-District team.

Aminu is the 14th player in Wake Forest history to earn All-America honors. This marks the second straight season in which a Deacon has been named an All-American. Jeff Teague was a consensus second team All-American in 2009.

Aminu is the seventh Deacon to earn USBWA All-District honors since 2001. The Norcross, Ga. is also a candidate for a number of national awards, including the Naismith Trophy and the Wooden Award.

Aminu finished the regular season averaging 15.9 points and a league-leading 10.8 rebounds per game. He is the only player in ACC who is averaging a double-double, and he leads the conference with 18 total double-doubles on the season.

Aminu, who ranks in the top 10 in the ACC in eight statistical categories, is trying to become the first Deacon to lead the ACC in rebounding since Tim Duncan in 1997.
