WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team will open play in the Women's National Invitation Tournament on Thursday, March 18, with North Carolina A&T. The Demon Deacons will host the Aggies at Reynolds Varsity Gym on the Reynolda campus at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the first round are $7 for adults and $4 for students and seniors (55+) and can be purchased by calling the Wake Forest Ticket Office at 1.888.758.DEAC or clicking here.
Wake Forest is 18-13 after going 1-1 in ACC Tournament following a fifth place regular season league finish.
North Carolina A&T is 21-10. The Aggies earned the top seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament, but were upset in the quarterfinals by South Carolina Upstate.
Wake Forest sophomore Secily Ray is the sister of A&T's senior Tyronnica Alford. Thursday's game will be the first time the siblings have met on the court since high school.
"I think its going to be exciting playing against my sister. Last time I played with her it was when we were playing together in high school," Ray said.
"A lot of family will be there on the neutral side, and we have been having a little sisterly trash talk so we will see who comes out with the win."
The winner of the opening round will move on to face either Gardner-Webb or Charlotte at location that will be announced on Friday.
