From PQC International Press Release
PQC International is a global consulting firm offering management, technology, education, and multimedia consulting. Frank Payne, our President/ CEO truly believes that our internship program brings value and helps us grow our organization. At PQC International we support our interns at every step of their career development. Mykala Walker joined our family as a Marketing Research Intern/Junior Project Manager. She worked with our Manager for the Office of Strategy Management to implement programs that will help the company achieve its strategic goals.
During her internship, we found Walker to be reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and, most importantly, able to work independently. In her position as Junior Project Manager, she was tasked with working on the very important "Brand Self Sufficiency" project. Her work on this project involved completing a research report that will allow the company to achieve one of the goals in its Strategic Plan. One of the objectives of the Brand Self Sufficiency project is for the company and each of its 16 brands to have a more defined presence in the business community. To accomplish this, the brands must join professional organizations and associations, as well as participate in various events. Per brand, Walker identified the initiatives to achieve the Brand Self Sufficiency Goal.
Throughout the project Walker demonstrated a wonderful initiative and a positive attitude toward completing the goals set for her. She also demonstrated her team skills while working in cross functional teams on various projects.
As a result of her internship at PQC International, Walker was exposed to several career development opportunities. She visited The Coca-Cola Company Headquarters, and The Coca-Cola Company Atlanta Syrup Plant to meet and observe our Project Managers working on various projects. She also attended The Coca-Cola Company 310 North Toastmasters meeting with her manager, Elena Bondari, to learn the importance of public speaking in any career. She also spent time observing managers from different brands working on their projects, all of whom utilized project management principles. She gained valuable insight into different industries and is better prepared to make a decision about her future career.
To round out her experience, Walker participated in our Community Outreach program. Along with several other team members, she volunteered at the Norcross Co-op Ministry. Community service is one of the core principles of PQC International. Overall, Walker demonstrated that she is a very talented and professional individual and we believe that she has a great future ahead of her. We sincerely hope to have her come back next summer to add value to our company.
