Adams Nears 2,000 Career Rushing Yards
Redshirt senior running back Josh Adams finished today's game with 10 carries for 35 yards.
He now has 1,997 rushing yards in his career and is three yards shy of becoming the 10th player in Wake Forest history to rush for 2,000 yards in a career.
Adams also caught his 80th career pass in today's game and is looking to become the third player in program history to rush for 2,000 yards and catch 80 passes in a career.
The other two players to accomplish the feat are Michael Ramsuer (1982-85) and Morgan Kane (1996-99).
Wilber Continues Strong Start to 2010 Season
Redshirt junior Kyle Wilber continued his strong start to the 2010 season, finishing the game with a career-high 11 tackles, including three tackles for loss and two sacks.
Wilber, who entered the game leading the nation in tackles for loss, now has 11 tackles for loss on the season and five quarterback sacks.
Wilber also forced a fumble in the contest, his second forced fumble of the season.
Miscellaneous Notes
Redshirt junior Tristan Dorty recorded his first career fumble recovery.
Redshirt sophomore Joey Ehrmann forced his first fumble of the 2010 season and second of his career. He also had his first sack of the season.
Redshirt senior Alex Frye had a career-high 11 tackles and one pass breakup.
Florida State's second quarter TD was the first for the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium against Wake Forest since Xavier Lee scored on a 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter in 2005.
Florida State's missed field goal in the second quarter snapped a streak of 15 consecutive field goals made by Wake Forest opponents.
Redshirt junior Shane Popham's 52-yard punt at the end of the second quarter was the longest of his career.
Today's game was delayed by weather for 42 minutes early in the third quarter. The last Wake Forest game to be in a weather delay was against Ole Miss in the 2006 season.
Junior Andrew Parker caught his first pass of the season.
Wake Forest was shut out for the first time since October 18, 2008, when the Deacs were blanked 26-0 at Maryland.
