With the Win

  • Wake Forest ended a four-game losing streak to Boston College, beating the Eagles for the first time since 2006.
  • The Demon Deacons won for the first time in Alumni Stadium since Boston College joined the ACC. The last win in Boston was in 2003 when the Eagles were still in the Big East.
  • Wake Forest has won three straight games in the same season for the first time since opening the 2007 season with a 3-0 record.
  • Wake Forest ended a streak of four straight road ACC losses. It is Wake's first road ACC win since winning at Duke in the final game of the 2009 season.
  • Wake Forest improves to 2-5 vs. Boston College in ACC competition
  • Wake Forest improves to 14-17 against Atlantic Division competition in the seventh year of divisions
  • Wake Forest improves to 6-5 the week after an open date under Jim Grobe
  • Wake Forest has won five of its last six games the week after an open date under Grobe
  • Jim Grobe improves to 65-61 in his 11th year at Wake Forest and 98-94-1 in his 17th year overall
  • Under Grobe, the Deacons are 34-48 in ACC play, 24-32 in road games and 14-27 in road ACC games

  • Wake Forest has matched last year's win total of three
  • Wake Forest starts ACC play with a 2-0 record for just the fifth time in ACC history. Wake also started 2-0 in 2008, 1987, 1976 and 1958.

Tanner Price Continues His Blistering Start

  • Sophomore QB Tanner Price was 19-of-29 for 252 yards and one touchdown in the game. That gives him 1,119 passing yards through the first four games, marking the best four-game start in school-history. He bested Brian Kuklick old mark of 1,063 which he set in 1997.

Givens Off To A Hot Start

  • With 132 yards receiving today, junior WR Chris Givens smashed the best four-game start for any Wake Forest receiver. He now has 498 yards on the year. Ricky Proehl had previously held the record for the most receiving yards through the first four games with 356 yards in 1988. Givens had had a total of 366 in the first three games of the season.
  • Givens caught his 16th career touchdown pass which moves him to 6th all-time in school history.
  • He now has 1,641 career receiving yards, which is 13th all-time in school history.
  • Givens has also caught a pass in the last 19 games in which he has played.

Terrence Davis With A Career Game

  • Junior wide out Terrence Davis hauled in what may have been the biggest pass of the game, a 44-yard reception on 3rd and long late in the fourth quarter.
  • That gave Davis a career-high tying three receptions for a career-high 63 yards.
  • He also had three catches in the wins over Presbyterian (2010) and Gardner-Webb (2011).

Jimmy Newman Starts A New Streak

  • Jimmy Newman made a pair of field goals in the win and has now made eight-straight.
  • He knocked home a 22-yard field goal in the second quarter and another 22-yarder in the fourth quarter.
  • His last miss came in the season-opener at Syracuse on Sept. 1.
  • Newman is now 32-of-40 in his career.

Josh Harris Nears 1,000 yards

  • Running back Josh Harris ran 19 times for 60 yards on Saturday. He now has 996 career rushing yards.
  • Harris also recorded his second touchdown of the season and the ninth of his career.

Deacons Have Success When Pendergrass Reaches Paydirt

  • Senior running back Brandon Pendergrass recorded his 10 career touchdown against Boston College. When he reaches the endzone, Wake Forest is 8-2.
  • Pendergrass finished the day with eight carries for 25 yards.

Wulfeck Ties A Career-Long

  • Punting from his own endzone in the third quarter, sophomore Alex Wulfeck booted a 44-yard punt, which tied the longest of his career.

Boston College Continues Its Field Goal Success Against Wake

  • Boston College was 4-for-4 on field goal attempts on Saturday.
  • That makes the Eagles 11 of 12 in field goal attempts over the last four years against Wake Forest.
  • The last miss was in 2010 when Kyle Wilber blocked in attempt at BB&T Field.

  • Wake Forest won the toss and decided to receive
  • FL Michael Campanaro started at flanker after missing the Gardner-Webb game with a hamstring injury.
  • Josh Bush recorded his second interception of the season the third of his career.
