WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will welcome its second straight ranked opponent to BB&T Field when the Demon Deacons host the No. 19-ranked and defending ACC champion Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday evening. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live online at ESPN3.com and can also be heard on the Wake Forest Sports Network from IMG College.
The Deacons have won four straight and are coming off a 35-30 upset of No. 23-ranked Florida State last Saturday at BB&T Field. The victory has vaulted the Deacons into top 25 discussions, as Wake Forest received votes in the national polls earlier this week.
The win also moved the Deacons to 3-0 in ACC play for the first time in program history.
Sophomore quarterback Tanner Price continued his stellar play, completing 21 of 35 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Price is off to the second-best start of any Demon Deacon quarterback through five games. He has completed 101 of 162 passes for 1,352 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Sophomore tailback Josh Harris broke the 100-yard mark for the first time this season in the win over Florida State. Harris rushed for 136 yards on 13 carries, including runs of 57 and 42 yards.
The Wake Forest offense did not commit a single turnover against FSU, as the Deacon defense forced the Seminoles into five turnovers on the afternoon.
The Deacons' 35 points were the most they have ever scored against the Seminoles and Wake's highest total against FSU since beating the Noles 30-0 in 2006.
