WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore women's soccer player Katie Stengel has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the field as a Demon Deacon.
Stengel re-wrote the women's soccer record books last year as a freshman, setting new school records for goals and points in a season. She earned NSCAA All-America Second Team honors and was named the TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Rookie of the Year.
This season, Stengel picked-up where she left off, scoring 13 goals and becoming the first Demon Deacon to be named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
