With the Loss
- Wake Forest's record falls to 5-4
- Jim Grobe's record stands at 67-64 in his 11th year and 100-97-1 overall.
- Wake Forest has lost three straight games to independents (Navy in 2009, 2010).
BP Fuels Deacon Offense
- RS Senior RB Brandon Pendergrass started off the Wake scoring with a 20-yard receiving TD with 10:52 to play in the first quarter. It was the first receiving score of his career and 14th career TD.
- Pendergrass established a season-high with 29 yards receiving in the first quarter. His career-high was 32 at Clemson on 10/9/08.
The Price Remains Right
- Sophomore QB Tanner Price has thrown a TD in eight-of-nine games.
Josh Harris
- RS sophomore running back Josh Harris' second quarter rushing TD was the 10th of his career and first since Oct. 1 at Boston College.
Jimmy's Boot
- Newman connected on his 14th consecutive FG with a season-high 46 yard make in the first quarter. His career-long FG (48 yds) came on Sept. 18, 2010 at Stanford.
- On the year, Newman is 15-of-17 and has moved past Wilson Hoyle (1986-89) into third-place all-time for most field goals in school history (38). He is fifth all-time in career scoring with 207 points.
Some Things In Life Are "Givens"
- RS junior wide receiver Chris Givens hauled in a first quarter catch against ND to extend his streak of game with a catch to 24. The last game he didn't catch a ball was Oct. 24, 2009 at Navy.
- Givens had a season-high 28 yards rushing on three carries in the first half. He ended the game with 39 yards on four carries.
- Givens now has 985 yards receiving on the season, which is the fourth-best total for a single-season in school history. He trails school-record holder Ricky Proehl by just 68 yards. Proehl finished the 1989 season with 1,053 yards.
Bush On Fire
- RS senior Josh Bush's second quarter interception secured the Deacons' 17-10 lead heading into halftime. Bush added a second pick in the third quarter for the first multi-interception game since Alex Frye had a pair of picks versus Duke on Sept. 11, 2010.
- The free safety leads the Deacs and is second in the ACC with five 2011 interceptions. He now has six career picks.
- Bush's eight tackles were also a career high.
Catch `Em Camp
- RS sophomore Michael Campanaro finished with six catches for 74 yards. Campanaro has had at least four catches in all eight of his starts this season.
Orville Flies First
- Freshman tailback Orville Reynolds made his first career appearance in the fourth quarter and is the first true freshman to see the field for the Deacons in 2011.
- His first carry went for nine yards and a Wake Forest first down.
Ehrmann's Milestone
- With seven tackles against the Irish, RS junior Joey Ehrmann reached the 100-tackle mark for his career and now has 104 overall.
Career Highs in Tackles
- RS sophomore Justin Jackson recorded a career-high eight tackles. He had previously recorded seven tackles on two occasions this season.
- RS sophomore Mike Olson also had a career-high with eight tackles, edging his previous career-high of seven (four times).
- RS sophomore Zach Thompson recorded a career-high six tackles.
Miscellaneous
- The announced crowd of 36,307 stands as the fourth-largest crowd in the history of BB&T Field.
- Wake Forest captains were redshirt senior OLB Kyle Wilber and senior OG Joe Looney.
- Wake Forest lost the toss, but elected to receive when Notre Dame deferred their selection to the second half. The Deacs have started off with the ball in all nine games this season.
- Both teams capitalized on their first two possessions, converting a touchdown and a field goal apiece.
- With a touchdown on the first drive of the game, Wake Forest has now scored first in eight of nine games this season.
- Andrew Parker had a season-long 15 yard catch in the second quarter - his first reception since Sept. 17 against Gardner-Webb.
- Garrick Williams returned to the starting lineup at center.
