WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest finishes out its three-game home stand by hosting Howard on Sunday, Dec. 18 at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
How to Catch the Game
The game will be streamed live online on WakeForestSports.com and can also be heard on the Wake Forest Sports Network from IMG College. Cabell Philpott (play-by-play) and Roper Halverson (analyst) will have the call.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest dropped just its second game of the season to No. 22 Delaware 70-57 last Sunday.
The game was tied 36-36 at halftime but the Blue Hens held Wake without a field for over an 11 minute span in the second half. UD went on a 19-3 run to build an insurmountable 16-point lead.
Delaware's Elena Delle Donne, the nation's leading scoring, had 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Deacs were led by sophomore point guard Chelsea Douglas, who finished with 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
Senior Secily Ray and junior Sandra Garcia each chipped-in with 10 points while sophomore Lindsy Wright grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Meet the Bison
Howard is 4-5 on the season but has started MEAC play with a pair of victories.
The Bison come into the game winners of their last three, including a 60-50 victory over Navy last Sunday.
Junior guard Tamoria Holmes led HU with a season-high 27 points in the win over Navy.
Holmes leads the team in scoring at 18.2 points per game and has dished-out 25 assists.
Inside, Saadia Doyle is averaging nearly a double-double with 14.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.
Howard head coach Niki Reid Geckeler is in her fourth season with the Bison. She has an overall record of 45-59. Reid Geckeler graduated from Georgetown and was an assistant coach for the Hoyas alongside current Demon Deacon assistant coaches Natasha Adair and Bob Clark from 1998-2002.
Series History
This will be just the second meeting all-time between Howard and Wake Forest.
The Deacs won the only previous meeting, 82-66, in the 1990-91 season-opener. That game was played at the VCU Invitational in Richmond, Va.
Next Up...
The Demon Deacons will head out on the road for just the second time this season to take on SMU. The game is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
