The Fifth Quarter opens in theatres on Friday, March 25. The movie is based on the inspirational true story of Jon and Luke Abbate and Wake Forest's 2006 ACC Football Championship.

In the spring of 2006, Luke Abbate was seriously injured in an auto accident. His family made the gut-wrenching decision to donate his organs. During the fall of 2006, with Jon's teammates rallying around him and the Wake Forest fans supporting the family, the Demon Deacons won the ACC Championship and earned their first trip to the Orange Bowl.

Written and directed by Rick Bieber, the motion picture was shot on location on Wake Forest's campus in the fall of 2009. The film stars Ryan Merriman as Jon Abbate, Aidan Quinn as Jon's father, Steven, and Andie McDowell as Maryanne Abbate.
