CHICAGO - Wake Forest women's soccer player Alisha Woodson has been added to the United States Under-23 National Team roster and will join Demon Deacon teammate Aubrey Bledsoe at the squad's training camp in Chula Vista, Calif. from May 15-21.
The U-23s, which are under the direction of head coach Bill Irwin, are preparing for a June trip to Europe for several international matches.
Woodson, a defender, will be training with the U.S. Youth National Teams for the second time after previously having camped with the U-20 team in 2010.
The sophomore from Wake Forest, N.C. started every game for the Demon Deacons in 2010, notching a goal and an assist as well as helping the Deacs' back line record four shutouts. Woodson led-off for Wake Forest in its two penalty kick shootouts in the ACC Tournament, converting both of her attempts to help the Demon Deacons knock out North Carolina in the semifinals and Maryland in the finals to earn their first ACC championship.
