With the loss:
- Jim Grobe's record at Wake Forest is now 62-61 at Wake Forest and 95-94-1 all-time
- The series with Syracuse is now even at 1-1
- Wake falls to 2-7 all-time in overtime
- The Deacons fall to 27-30 under Grobe in games decided by 7 points or fewer
- Wake drops to 51-20 when scoring 24 or more points

Newman's streaks end
- Jimmy Newman extended his school record for consecutive field goals made to 13 when he made a 38-yarder with 7:54 to play in the first quarter.
- That streak ended minutes later when he missed on a 34 yard attempt with 3:38 to play in the first quarter.
- With :20 to play in the third quarter, Newman missed a PAT which also ended his string of 67 consecutive PATs made. It was his first missed PAT of his career.
- With his third field goal of the night, with 11:02 to play in the game, Newman tied his career-high with three field goals in a game. He also had three against NC State in 2009.

Givens extends streak
- WR Chris Givens entered the game with a streak of 15 consecutive games with at least one reception and he extended that streak to 16 against Syracuse.
- Givens caught seven passes for a career-high 170 yards.
- For his career, Givens now has (87) catches for (1313) yards and (14) touchdowns.
- Givens also recorded his fourth career 100-yard receiving game and matched his career high with two touchdown receptions.

Campanaro sets career highs
- FL Michael Campanaro set a career high with seven catches. His previous high for receptions in a game had been four against Navy in 2010.
- Campanaro also set a career-high in receiving yards in a game with 79. His previous best had been 44 yards vs. 44 vs. the Midshipmen.
- Campanaro caught the first touchdown pass of his career in the second quarter, a 16-yarder from Tanner Price.

Price Has a Solid Three Quarters
- Sophomore quarterback Tanner Price finished the game 18-of-31 for 289 yards and 3 TDs.
- The three touchdowns ties a career-high that he set last season in a win over Duke on Sept. 11, 2010
- The 289 passing yards is the second-highest total of his career.
- The 31 completions is also tied for the second-highest total of his career.
- He left the game early in the fourth quarter with a knee injury

Deacons Overtime Woes Continue
- The overtime loss drops the Demon Deacons to 2-7 all-time in overtime
- It was Wake's third-straight loss in overtime. Wake last won an overtime game on Nov. 1, 2008 when Alphonso Smith intercepted a pass in the endzone to preserve a 33-30 victory against Duke at BB&T Field.

Wake Reach Double-Digits Indoors
- This was Wake's fourth indoor game in school history and the first in which it scored 10 or more points.
- The Deacons are now 0-4 all-time in indoor games.
- Wake scored two points, six points and nine points in each of its previous three games in a dome.

Miscellaneous Notes
- Senior Cameron Ford tied a career-high with three receptions
- Senior Cyhl Quarles tied a career-high with 10 tackles
- Junior Scott Betros made a career-high nine tackles on the night.
