Noel Earns Third Freshman All-America Honor

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest redshirt freshman cornerback Merrill Noel has been named to his third Freshman All-America team. The Pahokee, Fla. native this week was named a Freshman All-America by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). Earlier, Noel was named a Freshman All-America by Rivals.com and CBSSports.com.

Noel finished the 2011 season tied for the national lead in passes defended with 21 including two interceptions and a school-record 19 pass breakups. Noel finished third on the team with 66 total tackles.
