WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest open the ACC portion of the schedule by hosting No. 7/6 Duke on Friday, Jan. 6. The game is set to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
How to Catch the Game
- The game will be televised on the Regional Sports Network. Mike Hogewood (play-by-play) and Christy Winters-Scott (analyst) will have the call. The game can also be heard live on WakeForestSports.com.
Last Time Out
- The Deacons closed-out the non-conference portion of the schedule by downing Davidson in a back-and-forth battle 68-66.
- There were 14 ties and 15 lead changes in the contest.
- Wake scored 28 points off 24 Wildcat turnovers and turned the ball over a season-low nine times on its end.
- Junior Sandra Garcia scored a season-high 22 points on 10-of-13 from the floor. She also blocked a season-high three shots.
- Fellow junior Lakevia Boykin shook-off a tough start and finished with 16 points, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
- Sophomore guard Erin Hall followed-up her career performance against UMES by scoring eight points and grabbing a pair of rebounds.
Meet the Blue Devils
- Duke comes into the game with a 10-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the ACC after knocking-off Virginia 77-66 Monday night.
- The Blue Devils' only two losses this season came to top-10 ranked teams. The first was a 56-54 setback to No. 4/3 Notre Dame in the championship game of the Junkanoo Jam and a 72-65 loss at No. 10 Kentucky.
- Freshman center Elizabeth Williams has made an immediate impact for the Blue Devils. She leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest. She has also blocked a team-high 39 shots.
- Sophomore guard Chelsea Grey has also enjoyed a solid season thus far, averaging 10.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
- Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie is in her fifth season with the Blue Devils. She has an overall record of 440-176 and is a remarkable 124-28 in four-plus season at Duke. She is 5-0 all-time against the Deacs.

- This will be the 72nd meeting all-time between Wake Forest and Duke.
- The Blue Devils hold a commanding 53-18 edge in the series and have won the last 35 meetings between the two teams.
- The Deacs' last victory came in the opening round of the 1993 ACC Tournament, when Wake knocked-off the Blue Devils 70-69.
Next Up...
- Wake Forest will be right back in action this Sunday at the Joel when it hosts Boston College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
- The Deacs have won the last three meetings with Boston College, including an 82-65 victory last season in Winston-Salem.
