Josh Bush - Jets
The New York Jets played against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in an AFC conference matchup. The Colts struck first as they kicked a 20-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez helped power the offense in the second quarter as he threw for two touchdown passes to give them a 21-6 lead going into the half. The Jets' defense picked off Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck twice in the game to help seal the victory 35-6. Bush continued to help out on special teams especially at the end of the game where he almost recovered a fumble on kickoff, but it was later overturned. The 3-2 Jets look to stay undefeated in division games on Sunday as they take on the New England Patriots.
Tyson Clabo - Falcons
The undefeated Atlanta Falcons played host to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. The Falcons perfect record came down to the last five seconds of the game as Falcons' kicker Matt Bryant hit a game-winning 55-yard field goal with time expiring to the move the Falcons to 6-0 on the season. Quarterback Matt Ryan went 5-of-6 on the Falcons' final drive as he led the team 43 yards down the field in 35 seconds to put kicker Bryant in field goal range. Clabo helped the offense compile 286 yards for the game, 241 of which came from the passing game. The Falcons will remain undefeated next week as they have a bye week but their perfect record will be tested on October 28 when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Aaron Curry - Raiders
Curry returned to practice for the Oakland Raiders this week after spending the first six weeks on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List. Oakland now has a three-week window to decide whether to activate him, release him or place him on season-ending injured reserve. Curry had been out of action since mid-May when he was shut down due to knee problems. He underwent stem-cell treatments on both knees this past summer, using bone marrow from his hips. Curry is now trying to reclaim his starting position at weakside linebacker but is also seeing action at all three linebacker spots. The fourth overall pick by Seattle in 2009, Curry came to the Raiders via a trade last season and had 32 solo tackles in 11 games in 2011.
Chris DeGeare - Titans
DeGeare was placed on the practice squad/injured list by the Titans on Wednesday to make room for the team's signing of defensive end Thaddeus Gibson. In his third year in the league, DeGeare spent the first six weeks of the season on Tennessee's practice squad after being released by Minnesota in the preseason.
Chris Givens - Rams
The St. Louis Rams traveled down to Miami to take on the Dolphins in a Week 6 matchup. With starting receiver Danny Amendola injured, Givens was a main target all game long for quarterback Sam Bradford. Givens had his first reception on the Rams' second drive as Bradford hit him on a second and long for an eight-yard pickup. He was targeted two plays later as he broke through the secondary and exploded for a 65-yard reception. Givens finished the game with three receptions for 85 yards, but the Rams fell to the Dolphins 17-14. The 3-3 Rams host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Joe Looney - 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers hosted the New York Giants on Sunday as they looked to remain undefeated at home for the year. They got off to a quick start as they scored the first points of the game on a 42-yard field goal. However, the offense was unable to get any momentum going after that as the Giants' defense caused turnovers all game long. Although the 49ers dropped the game 26-3, the 49ers' defense leads the league in fewest yards allowed per game with only 275 yards per game. Looney, who has not seen any action yet, still sits second on the depth chart at the left guard position. The 4-2 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks this Thursday night.
Calvin Pace - Jets
The New York Jets hosted the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday as they looked for their third win of the year to even their record. The Jets' running game took over as they outrushed the Colts 252-41 for the game. The 252-yards for the game are the most rushing yards in a single game this season for the Jets. Pace helped the Jets' defense shut down the Colts by forcing two interceptions as well as the defense forcing two fumbles. Pace had two tackles in the game, one solo and the other assisted. The New York Jets' defense will be tested on Sunday as they take on the top offense in the league in the New England Patriots.
Steve Vallos - Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles took on the Detroit Lions Sunday in a battle of NFC teams. The Lions got off to a quick start with two first-quarter field goals. The Eagles responded by scoring the next 16 points as they converted two field goals and scored on a touchdown pass. The game went into overtime tied at 23-23 before the Lions hit a 45-yard field goal to clinch the victory 26-23. Vallos did not see any time in the game but the team will look to him throughout the season for depth on the offensive line. The 3-3 Eagles have a bye this week but will play again on October 28th as they host the undefeated Atlanta Falcons.
Kyle Wilber - Cowboys
Coming off of a bye week the Dallas Cowboys took on the Baltimore Ravens. The game went back and forth as each team swapped field goals and touchdowns for their first two scores of the game. The Ravens were able to score another touchdown late in the second quarter to give them a 17-10 lead going into halftime. The Cowboys capitalized on receiving the ball to start the second half as they drove down the field and converted on a 43-yard field goal attempt. After recovering an onside kick, Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo led the offense down the field and put them in position to score, but they were unable to hit a 51-yard field goal and fell 31-29. Wilber saw action in the game for the Cowboys as he appeared in his third game of the year. The Cowboys take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
