Football Game Notes - Wake Forest vs. Maryland

- Wake Forest head out on the road for the second time this season when it heads to College Park, Md., this weekend for an ACC Atlantic Division showdown with Maryland.
- The Demon Deacons have won four out of the last six meetings over Maryland, including a 31-10 victory last season at BB&T Field.
- Maryland has held the upper hand recently in College Park, knocking off a ranked Wake Forest team 26-0 in 2008 and rolling to a 62-14 victory in 2010.
- The Deacons' last win at Maryland came during their 2006 ACC Championship season when a 38-24 victory clinched the Atlantic Division title.
- The Deacs are 1-2 in conference play this season while Maryland will be playing its first ACC game on Saturday.
- Wake Forest is coming off a tough setback at home against Duke last Saturday, 34-27.
- In the game, Wake Forest lost the ACC's top receiver Michael Campanaro to a hand injury in the first quarter.
- In Campanaro's absence, senior Terence Davis caught a career-high six passes for a career-high 100 yards.
- Fullback Tommy Bohanon also had a career day receiving, finishing with a pair of touchdown grabs and a career-high 41 yards receiving.
- Quarterback Tanner Price was 19-of-38 for 230 yards and two scores but he also threw two interceptions.
- Defensively, juniors Mike Olson and Justin Jackson each had career-highs in tackles.
- Olson recorded a game-high 13 stops, including one tackle for loss while Jackson posted 12 tackles and his team-leading third sack.
Next Up
- Wake Forest will enjoy its bye week next Saturday before returning to action at Virginia on Oct. 20.
- That will be the first meeting with the Cavaliers since the Demon Deacons 28-17 victory at BB&T Field in 2008.
- Wake Forest has won just twice against Virginia since 1984.
