Head Coach Jim Grobe
On the loss to Duke...
"We didn't play as well last week as we could have; I thought Duke played well. We got into the fourth quarter and thought we had a great shot to win. It was another typical Wake Forest game in the fourth quarter with a chance to win it but we didn't get it. We've got to keep practicing hard and coaching hard and try to do a better job as coaches. (We have to) try and demand more out of our players and keep moving forward."
On dealing with a tough loss...
"Usually in my experience the players bounce back a little quicker. For me as a coach, tough losses hang with me for about 20 or 30 years. We've had a lot of games where we've been in those situations and won and a lot that don't go our way. That's the problem when you get in tight games. A bounce of the ball here, a missed block there and a missed throw here, or whatever, can be the difference in the game. (It was) another hard-fought game that we came up short on and those are probably the ones that stay with you as a coach."
On the upcoming game against Maryland...
"They are really physical with a really physical front. The (Joe) Vellano kid is special and they've got (Kenneth) Tate in there playing linebacker. He's back from an injury and looking really good. Their secondary is big and physical. It's a really physical Maryland defense which we've gotten used to. It's typically what they are. (I) like them on offense. They've got a freshman quarterback (Perry Hills) that's special, he gets better every week. They've got a bunch of good receivers, but (Stefon) Diggs is really big time. He's one of the top kick returners and punt returners in the country. He's caught a bunch of touchdown passes. They're going to be a real challenge for us."
On losing junior flanker Michael Campanaro to an injury...
"Camp is just one of those guys who's never on a list now. You never hear a negative thing. Everybody is positive about him whether it's on or off the field. You really hurt for the kid. It certainly hurts our football team but we're more concerned about the individual kids. I'm just really sad for him. But the good news is that I think he'll bounce back. I think he'll make it back, hopefully in a few weeks. If we can get him back and have him playing great football at the end of the season then it's not all lost. It's not like having an ACL, this is something he can come back from. So there's good news and bad news; we'll miss him, but hopefully we can get him back sooner rather than later."

Senior H-Back Tommy Bohanon
On the confidence level of the team...
"I feel like our team is still confident and we can get the job done. We met yesterday and put Duke behind us. We're focused on Maryland and we had a good practice yesterday. I think we're still a confident team and I think we can win any game that we play."
On becoming a key part of the passing game...
"It definitely excites me to get out of the backfield. That's what helps with my new H-back position; I get to line up all over the field. I feel like that helps me be able to get open and give Tanner a window to be able to throw to me a little bit more."
On Maryland's defense...
"They're a great defensive team. When we were watching film yesterday, that's what we noticed. Their defense flies around to the ball and they get to the ball fast. They're a great defense and it's going to be a great test for us."

Senior Placekicker Jimmy Newman
On losing Michael Campanaro...
"I think everyone knows that we lost a big player. He's one of our guys that makes a lot of big plays on offense. I really think that, especially in that receiving corps, they see an opportunity to step up and become one of the players that Mike has been for the offense. It does hurt, but it also gives some of the other guys the opportunity to show off some of their skill sets."
On heading into an important road game at Maryland...
"I think that everybody is really excited about it, knowing that we're just going to have to clench our teeth and play as best as we can to win especially against a unit like Maryland's defense. We're all optimistic, and we know that there's no place else to go besides up. We're backed up against a wall, but I think everybody is excited about this week and looking forward to getting up there and playing in front of a fun crowd like that."
On kicking on the road...
"I enjoy it. It's different; all of the fans are always going to like giving you a hard time. The biggest thing that I worry about is what their field is like, if it's different from what I'm used to kicking on turf here. I'm looking forward to it. I've been able to play there once before, so I'm looking forward to getting back up there and seeing them again."
