Josh Bush - Jets
The New York Jets took on the New England Patriots in an AFC East divisional game on Sunday. The Jets got on the board first with their first possession of the game on a 1-yard run up the middle. The Patriots fired right back with a 104-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to knot the game at 7-7. The Jets scored 13-straight points in the fourth quarter to force overtime, but the Patriots hit a 48-yard field to eventually seal the game 29-26. Bush continued to help out on special teams as he accounted for three tackles on kickoff. The Jets take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday for the second time this season as they look to sweep the series after winning 23-20 in Week 3.
Tyson Clabo - Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons had a bye week this past weekend but their undefeated record will be put to the test on Sunday when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Chris Givens - Rams
The St. Louis Rams hosted the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in a match-up of two 3-3 teams. Givens led all Rams' receivers on the day for receiving yards as he finished with 78 yards on three catches. His longest reception came early in the fourth quarter as he caught a screen pass and used his quick speed to maneuver through the defense for a 56-yard completion. He has now had four straight games with a reception of over 50 yards. Despite a late fourth-quarter comeback, the Rams fell to the Packers 30-20. The Rams travel to London this weekend as they take on the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Joe Looney - 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers hosted the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday in a game where the 49ers looked to get back on a winning track. The Seahawks took a 6-3 lead going into the half as they converted on a 35-yard field goal early in the second quarter to take the lead. 49ers' quarterback Alex Smith got the offense rolling in the second half leading them down on their first possession for a 12-yard passing touchdown. The 49ers sealed the victory with a 28-yard field goal with less than six minutes to play for the win 13-6. Looney, who has not seen any action yet, still sits second on the depth chart at the left guard position. The 49ers improve to 5-2 on the year and take on the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night.
Calvin Pace - Jets
The New York Jets took on the top-ranked offense Sunday as they challenged the New England Patriots. The Jets' defense played a big game in the fourth quarter as they held the Patriots' offense to only three points. This allowed the Jets' offense to come back and put up 13 unanswered points to force overtime. The Jets' defense forced the Patriots to punt six times in the game which is the highest amount in a single game this season for the Patriots. The Jets dropped the game 29-26 despite the strong defensive performance. Pace finished the game with four solo tackles to increase his total to 28 total tackles on the year. The Jets travel to Miami on Sunday to take on the Dolphins.
Alphonso Smith - Lions
The Detroit Lions signed fourth-year veteran cornerback Alphonso Smith on October 18 after releasing him in August. Smith saw action right away in Monday night's game as the Lions played the Chicago Bears. Smith's presence was felt all game long as he finished the game with four total tackles, three of which were solo tackles. He also had two pass deflections both of which came on third-down plays. Smith has played in 23 games over the past two years for the Lions. After Monday's game he has 70 total tackles in Detroit with 16 pass deflections, eight interceptions and two touchdowns. Smith will fill the gap in the Lions' secondary which has had many injuries over the past few weeks. The Lions will host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Steve Vallos - Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles had a bye this weekend but they host the undefeated Atlanta Falcons on Sunday as they look to improve to 4-3 on the year.
Kyle Wilber - Cowboys
After coming off of a tough loss last week, the Dallas Cowboys took on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in an NFC matchup. The Cowboys struck first with a 19-yard field goal in the second quarter. After trailing 7-3 at halftime, Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo found his receiver in the back of the endzone to take a 10-7 lead. Cowboys' kicker Dan Bailey helped break the two-game losing streak as he converted three field goals in the second half for the 19-14 victory. Wilber did not see any action in the game, but the Cowboys will continue to use him defensively and on special teams. The Cowboys look to sweep the season series with thye New York Giants on Sunday after they took the victory in their Week 1 match-up 24-17.
