Campanaro Sets Two-Game Reception Record
- Junior Michael Campanaro finished the game with five receptions for 14 yards.
- Coupled with his 16-catch performance last week against Boston College, Campanaro has set the school-record for most receptions in consecutive games with 21.
- That broke Marlon Estes' record of 20 which he set during the 1995 season.
- Campanaro has now caught a pass in 20-straight games.
Non-QB Passing Under Grobe
- Wide receiver Michael Campanaro hit fellow wide receiver Terence Davis for a 39-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
- That was Campanaro's third touchdown pass of his career and his second against NC State. Campanaro hit Danny Dembry on a 40-yard TD pass in last season's game.
- Campanaro is now 4-of-5 passing in his career for 145 yards and three touchdowns.
- Under Grobe, the Deacons are now 26-of-37 for 746 yards and nine touchdowns.
Okoro With A Pick
- Senior cornerback Chibuikem Okoro intercepted his first pass of the season in the second quarter.
- That was Okoro's seventh interception of his career.
Long Return
- NC State's Tobias Palmer ran the second half kickoff back 100 yards for a touchdown.
- That was the longest kickoff return Wake Forest has ever allowed in a game.
- The last player to return a kickoff for a touchdown against Wake Forest was Clemson's CJ Spiller on nov. 10, 2007.
Miscellaneous Notes
- Captains were OLB Justin Jackson and RB Josh Harris
- NC State won the toss and deferred to the second half.
- Wolfpack running back Shadrach Thornton finished with 110 yards on the ground. That's the first 100-yard rushing for either team in the series since Chris Barclay had 117 yards on 36 carries for Wake Forest in 2005.
- Wake Forest's defense has a sack in every game this year after getting only 11 total sacks last year.
- Juniors AJ Marshall and Daniel Mack each recorded a career-high 10 tackles in the game.
- The 16 yards rushing on the day for the Deacons is the fewest since they finished with -3 yards in a loss at Maryland on Oct. 30, 2010.
