Wake Forest Closes Regular season against rival Vanderbilt
Wake Forest will close out the regular season on Saturday against SEC-rival Vanderbilt at BB&T Field.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPNU. The game will also be carried live on the Wake Forest Sports Network from IMG College.
The Deacons are looking to become bowl eligible with a victory.
Vanderbilt leads the all-time series between the two teams 8-6 and holds a 5-2 edge in games played at BB&T Field.
Last season, the Commodores picked-up their sixth win of the season with a 41-7 victory over Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.
The Deacons are coming off a 38-0 loss at No. 3-ranked Notre Dame last Saturday in South Bend.
The Fighting Irish jumped out to an early 21-0 lead and never looked back.
Wake Forest quarterback Tanner Price completed 22 of 33 passes for 153 yards.
Flanker Michael Campanaro and tailback Deandre Martin caught six passes apiece to lead the offense.
Redshirt freshman cornerback Allen Ramsey II recorded his first career interception, picking off an Everett Golson pass in the endzone in the second quarter.
Fellow cornerback Kevin Johnson broke up three passes in the game, giving him a team-best 15 on the year.
Alexander Kinal punted 10 times on the day, setting a new school single-season record for punts with 90. He also tied the ACC record set by Dan DeArmas of Maryland in 1991.
Vanderbilt is coming off a 41-18 home win over Tennessee. It was the Commodores' fifth straight win and their sixth in the past seven games.
Next Up
With a win on Saturday against Vanderbilt, the Demon Deacons will be headed to a bowl game for the second-straight season.
Last year, Wake Forest went to the Music City Bowl and fell to Mississippi State.
