After a two week lay-off, the Demon Deacons will open ACC play against the Hokies of Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. from Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

Last Time Out

Asia Williams knocked down a free throw with less than a second remaining to give the Demon Deacons a 64-63 victory over Seton Hall on Dec. 8.
Wake Forest played a great first half and led 34-24 at the break. But the Pirates committed just four turnovers in the second half and shot nearly 47 percent to climb back in the game.
Senior Lakevia Boykin was 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and finished with a game-high 22 points. It was the ninth 20+ point game of her career.
Fellow senior Asia Williams dished-out a career-high seven assists to go along with 11 points and six rebounds. She has now dished-out 5+ assists in seven of the 10 games this season.
Junior Lindsy Wright made her second start of the season and pulled-down a career-high 12 rebounds. She also netted six points and had one block.
Point guard Chelsea Douglas scored 10 points and has now scored in double-figures in all but two games this year.

Today's Opponent

Virginia Tech opened the season with a 4-2 record but has since lost its last three contests and is 4-5 overall.
The Hokies won three in a row at the end of November, including a win over Wisconsin in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Monet Tellier has led Tech through the first nine games. She is scoring almost 12 points per game and is grabbing over six rebounds per contest. Tellier is the only player averaging in double-figures.
The Hokies have made just 24 three-pointers on the season.

Series History

This will be the 20th meeting all-time between the two teams.
Wake Forest holds an 11-8 edge in the series and has won six-straight meeting.
The Deacons won both meetings last season in a five-day span. Wake won 68-39 in the regular-season finale in Winston-Salem and then won 80-74 in the opening round of the ACC Tournament.

Next Up...

Wake Forest will have a couple of days off to enjoy Christmas before returning to practice on Dec. 27.
The Deacons will then close 2012 with a game against Campbell on Dec. 29 and a game against Nevada on Dec. 31. Both contests are set for 2 p.m. tips.
