WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest's Aubrey Bledsoe, Jackie Logue, Marisa Park, Katie Stengel and Alisha Woodson have been named to the 2011 All-ACC Academic Women's Soccer Team, the conference announced Monday.
Logue, a junior, has been named to the team in all three of her years at Wake Forest, while Bledose and Stengel, both sophomores, are making their second appearances on the team. Park and Woodson both made the academic squad for the first time.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
All five of Wake Forest's honorees were regular starters in 2011, helping lead the Demon Deacons to a program-best 18-4-4 record and their first-ever NCAA College Cup.
Logue, a two-year captain of the Demon Deacons, was also named to this season's Capital One Academic All-District First Team. An outside back, she appeared in 24 games for the Deacons last fall, making 22 starts and notching a career-high three goals, five assists and 11 points. With Logue in the lineup, the Wake Forest back line recorded 12 shutouts. A native of Mount Laurel, N.J., Logue is majoring in accountancy.
Stengel, the 2011 ACC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-America selection, has excelled on and off the pitch for the Demon Deacons. She led the ACC in scoring in 2011 with 19 goals and 46 points, both Wake Forest single-season records, and earned All-ACC First Team honors for the second year in a row. Stengel was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team.
Bledsoe turned in a magnificent season in goal for Wake Forest, keeping a school-record 14 shutouts. She was the lone goalkeeper on the All-ACC First Team, a de facto nod as the conference's goalkeeper of the year, and also took home Second Team All-America honors from the NSCAA. The Cincinnati, Ohio native played every minute of the 2011 season for the Demon Deacons, finishing the year with a nation-leading 2,428 minutes played.
Woodson started all 26 games for the Demon Deacons in 2011, setting a new school record for starts in a season and leading all Wake Forest field players with 2,333 minutes played. An outside back, she helped the Deacons keep 14 shutouts and also chipped in offensively with two goals and three assists. The Wake Forest, N.C. native is majoring in English.
Park appeared in 25 of the Demon Deacons' 26 games, making 16 starts. She scored two goals last season, including one in Wake Forest's victory over UCF in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. The junior is majoring in Business and Enterprise Management.
