WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Most Saturdays in the late summer and fall, you will find Wake Forest football players preparing for kickoff for that day's game. On Saturday August 4, the field will be taken over by the Demon Deacon Women for the 15th Annual Wake Forest Women's Football Clinic presented by Bo-Ty Florists. Whether you are an avid football fan or were just introduced to the game, the Women's Football Clinic is the place to be!
The clinic will last from 9 a.m. to noon on the 4th floor of Deacon Tower and on BB&T Field. All ladies are welcome to eat and have fun while learning the sport of football from Wake Forest's own football coaching staff!
The Wake Forest coaching staff strives to teach ladies about everything about the game, including play-calling strategy, play formations, referee signals and how the team prepares for the intense environment of college football on a weekly basis. You may even know more about football than your husband, son, brother or father after this clinic is over!
The cost of the clinic is $40 and proceeds benefit the Coach's Kids Program, which provides underprivileged and at-risk children in the Piedmont Triad area with tickets to home sporting events. It is recommended that all participants dress casually with athletic shirts, shorts and tennis shoes.
What can you expect when you arrive to BB&T Field on the morning of August 4th? The day will begin at Deacon Tower with breakfast on the 4th floor where Deacon Tower Grille is located. There you will check in, grab a bite to eat and mingle with other Demon Deacon Ladies.
After the conclusion of breakfast, you will meet our special guest speaker and Head Coach Jim Grobe to begin our ceremony. The speaker will open the second annual Women's Football Clinic fashion show featuring special Wake Forest apparel items for women, men, and children! The Deacon Shop will be on site to offer special discounts available only to Women's Football Clinic participants.
After the fashion show, ladies will trek down to the field for the popular football training stations followed by a scrimmage between two teams. Ladies in attendance can opt for the less strenuous indoor instruction where coaches will use personal experiences and game film to demonstrate the fundamentals of college football. The morning will conclude with a presentation of a "Certificate of Completion," signed by Coach Grobe, to all participants as well as the awarding of a long list of exciting door prizes.
Remember to reserve your spot at the 15th Annual Wake Forest Women's Football Clinic by calling the Sports Marketing Office at 336-758-3874! You can either pay by credit card, mailing in payment or by paying at the door on the day of the event. Parking is available in the Deacon Tower Lot. Reservations are limited to the first 250 ladies, so call today!
