
Three Men's Golfers Named Academic All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest men's golfers Charlie Harrison, Lee Bedford and Evan Beck have all been named to the Academic All-ACC team as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
This is the fourth-straight year that Bedford has been named to the team while Beck is now a three-time honoree and Harrison a two-time honoree.
Bedford capped-off his stellar career with a solid season in 2011-12. He led the team with a 72.5 scoring average and 23 of his 36 rounds came at par or better. He claimed his fourth collegiate title at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and finished five tournaments under-par. One of those came at the ACC Championship where he finished 9-under par and was runner-up. Bedford earned All-ACC honors for the third-straight season, becoming just the 10th Demon Deacon since 1975 to be named All-ACC three times.
Bedford finished his career with four victories and a 72.9 scoring average which was the sixth-best average by a Demon Deacon since 1980.
Beck has also earned Academic All-ACC honors each of his first three years on campus. This season, Beck played in all 12 events and averaged 74.9 strokes per round. He finished tied for sixth at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate last fall and tied for 27th at the ACC Championship.
Harrison was third on the team with a 74.3 scoring average this year. He too, played in all 12 events and posted three top-10 finishes. He best event came at the VCU Shootout when he finished sixth at a career-best 6-under par. Harrison posted 10 rounds at par or better, which was the second-best total on the team.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
