No. 7 Deacons Face UNCG in Home Opener, travel to Charlotte
- Wake Forest will take the pitch at Spry Stadium for the first time this season when it takes on UNCG on Friday at 7 p.m.
- Following Friday's match, the Demon Deacons will travel to Charlotte to face the 49ers on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Parking Advisory
For all 2012 men's and women's soccer games the following parking lots will be available on game days: A, B, R2, Q, W1 and W2. Fans are encouraged to park in lots A, B, W1 and W2, especially for all weekday games. When parking in lots A and B, fans are encouraged to use the Polo Road entrance to Spry Stadium for easy access to the stands. Fans may use the main entrance of Spry (south end of stadium, closet to R2), but should be advised on-campus construction could cause delays in entering the stadium. For further guidance, check the parking map.

- Friday's game against UNCG will be streamed online via the Wake Forest All-Access package on WakeForestSports.com
- Live stats for both matches will be available on WakeForestSports.com

Top Storylines
- Aubrey Bledsoe made four saves against UNC Wilmington last weekend to earn the 18th shutout of her career, tying the Wake Forest career record. Bledsoe joins Erin Regan, who kept 18 clean sheets between 1998-02, atop the shutout charts.
- Katie Dry scored a goal in her collegiate debut against Richmond last weekend.
- Wake Forest is 56-5-3 in non-conference games against opponents from the state of North Carolina. The Deacs have already tied UNC Wilmington 0-0, and this weekend's matches against UNCG and Charlotte will mark their final scheduled out-of-conference matches against teams from the Tar Heel State this season.
- Junior All-American forward Katie Stengel will be away for the team for the early part of the season as she competes as a member of the U.S. Under-20 National Team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Japan. Stengel has come off the bench in the Americans' first two matches in which they defeated Ghana 4-0 and tied China 1-1. They head into their final group stage match against Germany (Aug. 27, 2:55 AM EDT, ESPN2) in second place in Group D with four points.

- UNCG sits at 0-1-0 after a tough double overtime loss on the road at Georgia in its season opener.
- Spartan goalkeeper Jamie Simmons was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week after stopping 14 shots against the Bulldogs.
- Charlotte brings a 1-0-0 record into the weekend after coming from behind to defeat College of Charleston 2-1.
- The 49ers got second-half goals from Amanda Jones and Sara Trexler to earn the win.
Series Histories
- Wake Forest and UNCG have met on 15 previous occasions, with the Deacons holding the upper hand in the series with a 12-2-1 record.
- Wake Forest defeated UNCG 5-0 in Greensboro last year behind two goals from Katie Stengel and one apiece from Rachel Nuzzolese, Lee Page and Kelsey Zalimeni. Page's goal was the first of her career.
- Wake Forest has never lost to Charlotte, holding a 9-0-1 record against the 49ers, but the two teams have only met once since 2008.
