With the Win
- Wake Forest improves to 2-0 vs. Liberty and 13-6 vs. Big South teams
- The Demon Deacons are now 71-38-2 all-time in home openers and 52-56-3 in season-openers

- Has a career record of 69-67 in his 12th year at Wake Forest and 102-100-1 in 17 years as a college head coach

Price Moving Up the Charts
- Wake Forest quarterback Tanner Price completed 16-of-28 passes for 195 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
- Price completed the 400th pass of his career in the third quarter on a 14-yard throw to Sherman Ragland III. Price is only the seventh Wake Forest player to reach the 400-yard mark. He currently sits at 406 career completions
- Price completed a 31-yard touchdown pass to Michael Campanaro in the second quarter for his 28th career TD pass, tying him for sixth place on the Wake Forest career TD charts.
- Tanner Price's streak of consecutive pass attempts without an interception ended at 181 when he was picked off by Nick Sigmon in the second quarter. Price's streak is the seventh-longest in ACC history and the longest for a Wake Forest player.
Setting Up Camp
- Michael Campanaro had a strong day for the Deacons, catching nine passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed twice, gaining 11 yards.
- Campanaro went over the 1,000-yard receiving mark for his career. He now has 1,036 career receiving yards.
- Michael Campanaro has now caught a pass in 13 straight games.
Getting it Done on Defense
- Riley Haynes tied a career-high with 10 tackles, eight of them were unassisted.
- Kevin Johnson also made 10 tackles, a new career-high mark.
- A.J. Marshall picked off Brian Hudson with 4:16 to go in the 3rd quarter and returned it 39-yards for a touchdown to tie the game 14-14. The interception was the first of his career.
- Mike Olson set a career high with nine tackles
Martin Shines in Deacon Debut
- Redshirt freshman DeAndre Martin made a good impression in his game in Wake Forest uniform, carrying the ball 21 times for 74 yards and touchdown.
- Martin also caught two passes for 13 yards.
- The touchdown was a two-yard score that put the Demon Deacons in front for good (20-14).
Young Deacs Getting Time Early
- True freshmen James Ward (CB) and Tylor Harris (NG) both saw time for the Deacons on defense. It is the first time since 2010 that head coach Jim Grobe has played multiple true freshman in the season opener. That year, Tanner Price, A.J. Marshall and Kevin Johnson all played in a win over Presbyterian.
- True freshman NT Tylor Harris became just the third defensive lineman to see action as a rookie under Jim Grobe. The others were DE Jyles Tucker in 2003 and DE Jeremy Thompson in 2004.
- CB James Ward became the fifth true freshman corner to play for Wake Forest under Jim Grobe. The others include Eric King (2001), Dominique Tate (2009) and Kevin Johnson and A.J. Marshall (both in 2010).
Miscellaneous
- Starting tailback Josh Harris left the game in the first quarter with a mild concussion and did not return.
- Michael Campanaro suffered a sprained ankle in the third quarter and left the game briefly before returning.
- For the first time since 2002, Wake Forest played two foreign players in the same game in P Alex Kinal (Australia) and DE Hasan Hazime (Canada). In 2002, the Deacons started a pair of Canadians in TE Ray Thomas and OT Mark Moroz.
- 28 yard pass from Tanner Price to Tommy Bohanon that set up Wake Forest's third touchdown in the fourth quarter was a career-long reception for the senior fullback.
