Sept. 17, 2012
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 15th-ranked men's soccer team's matchup with in-state rival Duke on Friday at 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium has been named the Wake Forest Game of the Week. Fans in attendance can sign-in at the marketing table to be entered into a season-long drawing for great prizes, including a pair of men's basketball season tickets.
Wake Forest and Duke will renew their conference rivalry on Friday night, as the Demon Deacons are set to play their first home ACC match of the season.
The Deacons enter Friday having tied their first two ACC matches of the year, playing to a 1-1 draw at Clemson on Sept. 7 and a 0-0 tie at top-ranked North Carolina last Friday.
Sean Okoli and Michael are leading the way offensively for Wake Forest with two goals apiece. Chris Duvall, Jalen Robinson, Sam Fink and Anthony Arena have all scored one goal each on the season. Luciano Delbono and Luca Gimenez are tied for the team lead with two assists.
Like Wake Forest, Duke has also scored eight goals through its first six games, with Sebastian Ibeagha leading the way with three goals. He also has one assist for a team-best seven points.
The Blue Devils lead the all-time series with Wake Forest 23-13-6 and have won the last two meetings. Wake Forest was last victorious over Duke in 2009 when it defeated the Blue Devils twice, 3-0 and 4-2.
About the Wake Forest Game of the Week Program
Each week during the fall, one high-profile home event will be designated as the Game of the Week.
At that game, fans should check in at the marketing table to be entered into a season-long raffle, giving them one entry for every Game of the Week that they attend. The more games you go to, the greater chance you have to win.
At the end of the fall season, a drawing will be held for a Grand Prize of two men's basketball season tickets and a Wake Forest prize pack. Other prizes include four tickets to a men's basketball ACC home game, four tickets to a men's basketball non-conference game and four women's basketball season passes.
Below is the Game of the Week schedule for the rest of September. Games for the rest of the fall will be announced at a later date.
