WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman Michael Gamble has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week, as announced on Monday morning.
Gamble, a native of Columbia, Md., scored his first two career goals in just his second collegiate game against Boston University on Friday night.
Both of Gamble's goals came in the second half after the Demon Deacons and Terriers played to a 1-1 tie in the first half. The first of his two goals, which proved to be the game winner, came in the 57th minute, while he added a second score in the 80th minute.
Senior Andy Lubahn assisted on his first goal, while junior Chris Duvall and senior Luciano Delbono both assisted on his second goal.
Gamble also started and played all 90 minutes in Wake Forest's 1-0 win over West Virginia on Sunday evening. The win over the Mountaineers pushed the Deacs' record to 3-0-0 to begin the season.
Wake Forest will be on the road for the first time this season on Friday when the team opens up ACC play at Clemson at 7:30 p.m.
