With the Win...
- Jim Grobe ties Douglas Clyde "Peahead" Walkwer with 77 career victories as head coach.
- Grobe's record improves to 77-77 in 13 years at Wake Forest and 110-110-1 in 19 years as a college head coach.
- Wake Forest is 9-5 immediately coming off the by week under head coach Jim Grobe.
- The Demon Deacons have won the last four home games against Maryland.
- With 34 points scored, Wake Forest put up the most points versus an ACC opponent since 31-10 win over Maryland in 2011.
Hat Trick
- With a 10-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to Michael Campanaro, senior quarterback Tanner Price became the first ACC player since C.J. Spiller on Nov. 14, 2009 vs. NC State to rush, throw and catch a touchdown pass in a game.
- This was only the second time since 2000 that an ACC player has recorded a TD hat trick in a game.
- Tanner Price caught his first career touchdown pass off a four-yard pass from Campanaro in the waning minutes of the second quarter.
- Price also rushed for a four-yard touchdown for his third rushing touchdown of the season and 10th of his career.
Price On The Wake Forest Charts
- With 231 passing yards today, Tanner Price becomes the third QB in Wake Forest history to throw for 8,000+ yards (8,009).
- Price now ranks second in Wake Forest history with 8,142 passing yards. He trails only Riley Skinner.
Whitlock Continues To Dominate
- Senior Nikita Whitlock finished the game with five tackles and two sacks.
- Whitlock has a recorded a tackle for loss in all seven games this season.
- Second time this season and in his career that Whitlock has recorded multiple sacks in a game.
Campanaro Sets Reception Record
- Senior Michael Campanaro caught 11 passes in the game for 122 yards and one touchdown.
- He now has 217 career receptions, breaking Desmond Clark's school-record of 216 receptions from 1995-98.
- He broke the record on a 12-yard catch late in the fourth quarter.
- Campanaro has now recorded a catch in 28 consecutive games.
- He also moved into fifth place in receiving yards in school history, passing Todd Dixon and Jammie Dees. Campanaro now has 2,407 career recepetion yards.
- With a 10-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter, Campanaro went over 100 yards receiving for seventh time in career.
Doing It All
- In addition to his record-setting receiving day, flanker Michael Campanaro threw a four-yard touchdown pass to quarterback Tanner Price which was his fourth-career touchdown pass. Four of his six completions have gone for touchdowns.
- Campanaro is only the 3rd FBS player this century with two or more completions and eight or more receptions in the same game. Others: Kendall Wright of Baylor vs. TCU on 9/2/2011 (2 completions, 12 receptions); and Lorne Sam of UTEP vs. East Carolina on 10/13/2007 (2 and 9).
- Josh Harris has 1,973 career rushing yards and needs 27 to become the 11th Demon Deacon with 2,000 career rushing yards.
- Josh Harris recorded his 18th career touchdown in the first half on a one-yard rush.
Kicking From Deep
- Chad Hedlund nailed a 51-yard field goal in the first quarter which was a career-long.
- That was the longest field goal by a Deacon since Sam Swank had a 52-yard field goal against NC State in 2007.
- Hedlund's previous career-long was a 44-yarder at Virginia last season.
Offensive Notes
- Wake Forest led 24-3 at halftime which was the largest first half lead of the year and most points scored in the first half this season.
- The Deacs scored 4:23 into the first quarter which was the fastest score of the season.
- Tyree Harris had six catches for 49 yards against Maryland. He had two catches for 16 yards for his career coming into today's game.
Defensive Notes
- Cornerback Merrill Noel intercepted his fifth-career pass and the third this season.
- Noel's 49-yard interception return was a career high and the longest interception return since Josh Bush had a 54-yard interception in 2011 vs. Notre Dame.
- A.J. Marshall had his third career interception in the second quarter.
