Deacons Host Campbell IN Home Opener
- The Demon Deacons return home to host Campbell in their home-opener at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
- The game is set to tip off at 7:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
- The Demon Deacons opened the season with a 90-71 setback at Marquette last Saturday in Milwaukee.
- Senior Chelsea Douglas hit three three-pointers and finished with a team-high 26 points. It was the second-highest scoring game of her career.
- Junior Dearica Hamby also had a solid opening game with 23 points, six rebounds and a career-high nine steals. Her nine takeaways were one-shy of the Wake Forest single-game record.
- Freshman Ataijah Taylor made an impact in her debut, notching 12 points and a pair of assists.
- The first half was a back-and-forth battle that saw Marquette take a 44-39 lead to the break. But runs of 8-1 and 10-0 early in the second half allowed the Golden Eagles to open-up a 20-point lead.
Wake Forest Storylines
- Senior Chelsea Douglas is the top-returning scoring point guard in the ACC and she had a great start to the season. She is currently 17th in school history with 1,160 career points and also 4th with 174 career three-pointers.
- The Demon Deacons have won six-straight home-openers and are 31-11 overall in their home-opener.
- Head coach Jen Hoover is in her second season at the helm of the program.
The opposition
- Campbell opened the season with an 82-56 victory over Erskine last Saturday in Buies Creek.
- Kiera Gaines had 11 points and 10 rebounds while Ashley James scored 13 points and Roslyn Presley chipped-in with 11 points and four assists.
- The Fighting Camels were picked to finish third in the Big South preseason poll and Gaines was one of seven Big South players named to the All-Preseason team.
Series History
- This will be 10th meeting all-time between Campbell and Wake Forest and just the second since 1997.
- Campbell leads the series 5-4.
- Wake Forest won last year's meeting 84-68 at the Joel Coliseum.
Next Up...
- The Deacons will hit the road again to face Delaware on Nov. 15.
- The all-time series is tied at one game apiece.
