Head Coach Jay Vidovich

On the first goal...
"It was going with the flow, but it's the way we try to attack. We were able to turn the ball over on them and push the seams. We were able to push someone through, get someone running from the far posts, and find the goals. The first one was a great play by Michael Gamble to push Ricky Greensfelder through in the box. It was just a great finish."

On the opponent...
"We were playing a very good team. Navy is a champion, won their league, and had 15 straight wins. That goal made it very nerve-wracking all the way through. We needed to find one more goal, I think, before we could finish them. They stayed in it to the last second, so hats off to them. I do think we stayed committed to attacking and finding our way to the goal."

On the layoff between the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament...
"I think that's one of the most difficult things for a team. Here goes Navy, they win their conference championship, getting games underneath their belt. They beat VCU on the road and they already experienced what it's like to be in a do-or-die situation. We were concerned about it, but we did like the energy. We were very happy with that."

On Greensfelder's play...
"It's only his third start of the season. He's been coming in strong for us. He's been battling through injury. But I think that's the great story of the tournament. You always need someone who's an unheralded player for you, to step up in the big-time moments. Ricky did a tremendous job. He was everywhere, his defending started a couple of counterattacks, his finished in front of the game. What a great third game to play."

On helping the team to a victory...
"Anytime I can come on the field and just help my team is unbelievable, whether it's a goal or an assist."

On the layoff before the NCAA Tournament...
"It was pretty tough to see other teams play. But, we got to improve on some things and I think it showed tonight."

On the goals...
"It's one of our staples, to just get the ball in the box and be scrappy in there."

Senior Midfielder Jared Watts

On the win...
"I think going into the game, we knew we were facing a tough team. We knew they were going to come at us. It's a tournament game. It's got a little different feel to it. Coming off a 15-game win streak, they won their conference tournament, so we knew it was going to be a tough team. They weren't going to give up. They were able to get a goal back. But we didn't show any panic, and that's what's good about this team. We just stuck to our game plan. We still wanted to get the ball in dangerous areas. We stuck to our principles and we were able to get a second goal. It was a great win."

On holding the lead late in the game...
"At that point, we knew they have nothing to lose. They were going to throw everything at us. We needed to stay composed, especially at the back. We have to win dirty balls, clean everything up, win second balls and headers. Anything to make sure we get the win."

On this year's senior class...
"It's a special moment, especially with this group of seniors. With what we've been through these four years, our first time advancing, it's special. We want to enjoy it, but we know we still have work to do. We're not satisfied with where we're at right now. We want to keep going and enjoy it tonight. But tomorrow, we've got another game coming. We fought through a lot, just bringing this program back to where we wanted it to be. We're happy to be here, happy to advance, and happy to be alive in the tournament."
