WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Already the most decorated goalkeeper in Wake Forest women's soccer history, Aubrey Bledsoe took home another honor Tuesday as she was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team for the second year in a row.
Bledsoe, the only Academic All-American in program history, was voted to the second team for the second consecutive year, making her one of only six repeat selections from the 33 players honored.
The senior from Cincinnati, Ohio ends her Wake Forest career as the Demon Deacons' all-time leader in shutouts (33), goals against average (0.91), starts (94) and minutes played. Her 8,697:09 minutes played in net, the equivalent of more than six full days, rank as the second-highest total for a goalkeeper in NCAA Division I history.
Bledsoe is a two-time NSCAA All-American and has earned All-ACC honors three times, twice being the only `keeper named to the All-ACC First Team - a de facto nod as the conference's goalkeeper of the year.
In addition to her tremendous accomplishments on the field, Bledsoe boasts a 3.92 GPA - the highest on the team - while following a pre-med curriculum with a major in health and exercise science and minors in biology and chemistry.
She is a three-time selection to the All-ACC Academic Team and has made the Dean's List in every semester at Wake Forest.
