- The Demon Deacons will open the John Ascuaga's Nugget Classic against No. 20 California on Friday, Nov. 29.
- The game is set to tip off at 10:30 p.m. ET from the Lawlor Events Center in Reno. Nev.
Last Time Out
- Chelsea Douglas scored 22 points and Dearica Hamby chipped-in with 18 as Wake Forest claimed its first road victory of the season with a 70-58
- Douglas hit five three-pointers and dished-out a team-high tying four assists in the game. Hamby notched her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals and two blocks.
- Freshman Ataijah Taylor scored nine points and grabbed a season-high five rebounds. Jill Brunori finished with eight points, two rebounds and one block.
- The Deacs shot a season-best 45.6 percent from the floor. They also stepped-up on the defensive end and held Arizona to just 28.8 percent shooting and forced 16 turnovers.

- Senior Chelsea Douglas was the first player in school history to score 20 or more points in the first three games of a season. She leads the ACC in scoring (23.0) and three-pointers made (26).
- Douglas is currently 10th in school history with 1,272 career points and also second with 197 career three-pointers.
- Dearica Hamby has notched four double-doubles this season and now has seven for her career.
- The Demon Deacons have won 24 games against ranked teams. The last win came at 18/22 Florida State last season.
The opposition
- Cal comes into the game with a record of 3-2 overall. The Golden Bears' losses came against No. 2 Duke and at George Washington.
- Reshanda Gray tops the team in scoring at 16.4 points per contest. She led the Bears with a double-double against Northwestern in their game.
- Courtney Range is grabbing over 11 rebounds per game and has 22 offensive boards.
Series History
- Wake Forest and Cal have met just twice previously but not since 1999.
- The Deacons have won both of the first two meetings including a 57-48 victory in Winston-Salem on Dec. 28, 1999.
