No. 2 Irish Defeat No. 12 Deacons 3-1
No. 2 Notre Dame took a 2-1 lead into halftime and added a third goal in the second half to defeat No. 12 Wake Forest 3-1 on Senior Night at Spry Stadium on Saturday evening.

Deacs Head to Notre Dame for NCAA 3rd Round
• No. 14-seed Wake Forest will travel to No. 3-seed Notre Dame for the Third Round of the NCAA Championship on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Alumni Stadium in South Bend, Ind.

Last Time Out
• Wake Forest defeated Navy 2-1 in the Second Round of the NCAA Championship last Sunday at Spry Stadium.
Ricky Greensfelder was involved in both goals, assisting on the first one and scoring the game winner later, to record his first-career three-point game.
Sean Okoli scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season to put the Deacs on the board, while Michael Gamble, Chris Duvall and Luca Gimenez all earned assists, as well.

Wake Forest Notes
• The win over Navy was the Demon Deacons' first win in the NCAA Championship since 2009 (The Deacs advanced on PKs in the First Round in 2011). It also marks the first time that Wake Forest has reached the Third Round since 2009.
Sean Okoli leads Wake Forest with nine goals on the season, while Luca Gimenez is the team leader with 21 points (8 goals, 5 assists).
Ian Harkes continues to lead the team with seven assists and is the only Deacon who has started all 20 games this year.
Andrew Harris and Alec Ferrell have split time in goal this season, each with 10 starts to his name in 2013. Harris has three shutouts with a 0.95 GAA, while Ferrell has two shutouts with a 1.12 GAA.

Notre Dame Notes
• Notre Dame is led by Harrison Shipp who has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and the Capital One Academic All-America of the Year in 2013. He leads the Irish in goals, assists and points with 11 goals, eight assists and 30 points.
• Patrick Hodan has chipped in seven goals and five assists, while Vince Cicciarelli has six goals to his credit.
• Patrick Wall has playe every minute in goal so far this season and has allowed just 14 goals in 20 games. He has made 59 saves and has a 0.66 goals against average.

Series History
• Wake Forest holds a 4-1-1 all-time advantage over Notre Dame.
• The only win for the Fighting Irish over the Deacs came earlier this year. The Irish won the regular season matchup 3-1 at Spry Stadium on Nov. 2.
• The Demon Deacons won the last meeting in the NCAA Championship, taking down the Irish 1-0 in overtime of the 2007 Quarterfinals.
