Deacs Look to get back on Track against Belmont

  • After a pair of losses out west, Wake Forest returns home looking to get on track against Belmont.
  • The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. ET from the LJVM Coliseum.

Last Time Out

  • A late second half rally by the Demon Deacons came up a little short as host Nevada hung on for a 95-87 victory last Saturday at the Lawlor Events Center.
  • Playing the majority of the second half without Chelsea Douglas, the Demon Deacons cut an 18-point deficit down to three on a couple of occasions but wasn't able to get over the hump.
  • Junior forward Dearica Hamby scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season.
  • Fellow junior Millesa Calicott made a career-best five three pointers and finished with a career-high 17 points. She also grabbed three rebounds and dished-out a pair of assists.
  • Freshman Mykia Jones had her best game of the season, making three three-pointers, dishing-out five assists and netting 13 points - all season-highs.

Wake Forest Storylines

  • Dearica Hamby has notched double-doubles in each of the last four games and has six double-doubles this season. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Nugget Classic and currently leads the ACC in scoring at 20.8 points per game.
  • Senior Chelsea Douglas was the first player in school history to score 20 or more points in the first three games of a season. She second in the ACC in scoring (20.3) and three-pointers made (29).
  • Douglas is currently 10th in school history with 1,296 career points and also second with 200 career three-pointers.

The Opposition

  • Belmont comes into the game with a record of 3-5 overall.
  • The Bruins had a solid win at home on Nov. 24 against Kent State but fell in their last contest on the road at Georgia State.
  • Jordyn Luffman leads the team in every major category. She is scoring 15.0 points, grabbing 8.5 rebounds, dishing-out 2.1 assists per game while also notching 13 steals.
  • Katie Carroll is second in scoring at 8.6 points per contest.

  • This is the first meeting between Wake Forest and Belmont.
