
Chelsea Douglas Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - After setting school and ACC records in the win over FIU on Sunday, Wake Forest senior Chelsea Douglas was named the ACC Player of the Week on Monday.
Douglas led the Demon Deacons to the FIU Sun & Fun Classic title over the weekend by scoring a school-record 48 points in the championship game. She made a school and ACC record nine three-pointers in the game and her 48 points are the second-most points ever scored by an ACC player in a game.
For the week, Douglas scored 61 points and shot over 55 percent from the floor. She was 12-of-17 from the beyond the arc for 61.1 percent and has now made an ACC-leading 49 three-pointers on the season. In the win over FIU, Douglas dished-out four assists and also tied a career-high with six rebounds. The Rock Hill, S.C., native averaged 30.5 points in the two games and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Douglas is the first Demon Deacon earn ACC Player of the Week honors since Brittany Waters scored what was then a school-record 40 points in a win over Clemson in February of 2011.
