Wake Forest Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik
Opening statement...
"Once again, I want to thank our fans. (Out here) 12:00 on a Saturday, they were here for us and that means so much to us. Just an outstanding overall effort by our basketball team defensively, on the boards, sharing the basketball, moving without the ball and getting loose balls from everyone on the team."
On what was discussed in the locker room at the half...
"All we talked about was our pride, our confidence, our will our desire and getting back to playing really good basketball; Simple as that."
On four different players in double digits...
"We worked hard the last couple days to get more movement. I thought the last couple of games it was too much dribbling and not enough player and ball movement. We have to help each other shoot the ball. We have to work hard on getting ball and player movement. If you are not scoring early you have to score late and we did that several times to move the defense and to help each other get open shots. I think the last couple games had too much dribbling and then guys end up not taking open shots or the type of shots that we practice everyday in practice."
On holding FSU to 32% shooting...
"That's something that again goes back to that pride factor. We have a great group of young men that really respond when challenged."
On hustle plays and deflections...
"Those are the things that win you games. Those are the things that create the opportunities for open shots and easy buckets and getting stops and getting rebounds."

Opening Statement...
"If I was in Wake Forest's shoes, I would have been disappointed that we [Florida State] didn't give them more of an effort, a challenge that would have helped them improve. With all of the progress that we've made with our program in the last six or seven years, we seemed to have taken a step back today with our execution and our effort. When I look at the stats, they're not good from my standpoint. I think we probably played worse than the stats say. I don't think that as good as Wake Forest performed, I'm not sure if they're a 20 more rebound team than us. One thing about our team this year is a problem with consistency. It's interesting that we can execute and shoot 56% in the second half in one game and a few days later shoot 25%. We no longer can use youth or inexperience as an excuse. I just think that we have a hard time accepting the way that we have played this particular team in order for us to be successful. I thought that Wake Forest did a great job sticking with their game plan, making the extra pass and creating opportunities for their team, and I think that we did the complete opposite. We didn't take care of the ball, and when we had good stops, I thought that we made poor decisions on the offensive end. This is what happens when you go on the road and you're not at your best. Coach [Bzdelik] had his team really prepared mentally and emotionally. I thought that they did a good job being aggressive on the defensive end and executing the offense. I thought that we did the complete opposite. We led the nation in field goal percentage in defense two years in a row. That defensive effort didn't resemble anything like the way we've taught defense."
On being disappointed in his team's performance...
"Disappointed is an understatement. One good thing about being in the ACC is that you can't dwell on it for so long because you have another challenge coming down the pike, and I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't play excellent come Wednesday night. We're going to have to improve our focus and our ability to retain game plans and scout reports. We need to go out there and stick with what we've devised as a plan to be successful."
On scouting Wake's discrepancy between home and away performances...
"I think that's typical of a young team. They're more comfortable. It's something about being at home. It's part of the growing up process that you have to go through. I think that they've collected a group of young, talented guys that have bought into the system and they're trying their best to execute that system when they go out and play. Sometimes when you're young and inexperienced, you don't always grow as fast mentally and emotionally as you do physically. Sometimes you can be more relaxed than inhibited at home than when you're on the road. Most of the time in the ACC, you're never caught t heavily rely on so many youngsters in one year. I think that both of us have been dealt that hand. In the beginning, that part of growing and developing is somewhat elusive from time to time."
