Last Time Out
- Virginia Tech made four of its first five shots to grab a quick lead and would never give it up, downing Wake Forest 62-52 on the Deacs' Senior Night last Thursday.
- Senior Sandra Garcia notched her third double-double of the year in the loss, finishing with 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. The Miami, Fla., native has grabbed 44 rebounds over the last four games.
- Junior point guard Chelsea Douglas was 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and finished with a game-high 18 points. That was her 25th game this season with 10 or more points.
- Virginia Tech held Wake to just 18 field goals and forced the Deacons into 20 turnovers.
- The Deacs pulled to within eight points late in the second half but a clutch three-pointer by Tech's Alyssa Fenyn as the shot clock was expiring, swung the momentum back to the Hokies.

- Maryland comes into the game with a 22-6 overall record and a 13-4 mark in the ACC.
- The Terps have lost three times in the last six games with two of those losses coming at the hands of ACC regular season champion Duke.
- Reigning ACC Player of the Year Alyssa Thomas is making a strong case to repeat as she is averaging 17.7 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
- Tianna Hawkins is also having a tremendous season, averaging 18.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
- Hawkins leads the ACC in rebounding while Thomas tops the conference in points per game.
Series History With Maryland
- This will be the 67th all-time meeting between the two schools.
- Maryland holds a 54-12 all-time edge in the series.
- The Terrapins lead 23-7 in games played in College Park and 24-4 in games played in Winston-Salem.
- Maryland has won 13-straight in the series with the last Wake Forest coming in College Park on Feb. 13, 2003.
