WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jim Grobe knows a thing or two about high performance: Wake Forest's head football coach has led the Deacons to more bowl games, eight win-seasons and bowl victories than any other coach in school history.
So it's a natural fit for the 2006 ACC Coach of the Year and AP Bobby Dodd National Coach of the year to be a featured speaker sharing battle-tested insights at Leadership Game Changer: Developing Business Champions, a special professional training event coming to Atlanta in May.
At Leadership Game Changer, scheduled for May 9 at McCamish Pavilion on the campus of Georgia Tech, nationally-recognized coaches and former players including Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker, will inspire and train business people with proven lessons from the gridiron and hard courts. Business people will emerge from the day with a personal game plan for improving their careers.
Never before will so many elite coaches come together under one roof to share their secrets for becoming a champion. The current speaker lineup also includes: Kansas men's basketball coach Bill Self; former Georgia head football coach Vince Dooley; Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe, who formerly coached Ole Miss; former Tennessee head football coach Bill Battle; college football coaching legend Homer Rice; Georgia Tech head football coach Paul Johnson as well as GT basketball coach Brian Gregory; Bill Curry, former head football coach at Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Kentucky; Vanderbilt head football coach James Franklin; and Rod Olson, former coach at Oklahoma State and Appalachian State and founder and CEO of the Coaches of Excellence Institute.
Additionally, several major broadcasting personalities in college sports will serve as the day's masters of ceremonies.
Jay Bilas, college basketball analyst for ESPN and CBS sports (as well as former four-year starter and National Champion at Duke under Coach Mike Krzyzewski) will pair up with his CBS colleague Tracy Wolfson, the network's lead college football sideline reporter, college basketball reporter, and anchor of CBS Sportsdesk. Also helping moderate Leadership Game Changer is Wes Durham, voice of Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Falcons - and one of only four people calling major college football on Saturday and the NFL on Sunday.
Leadership Game Changer is produced by Wake Forest's multimedia partner IMG College. For more information on this special event, including how to register, visit www.Leadership-GameChanger.com
