Deacs Tie Tar Heels in Spring Finale

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest goalkeepers Andrew Harris and Alec Ferrell each played a half and helped the Demon Deacons play to a 0-0 draw in a fast-paced game with North Carolina on Saturday at Spry Stadium.
Wake Forest ends the 2013 spring season by shutting out its final three opponents. The Demon Deacons defeated VCU 2-0 on April 6 and Virginia 4-0 on April 13.
In addition, the Deacs stayed undefeated in the spring and finished the five-game schedule at 2-0-3. Besides the tie against the Tar Heels, Wake Forest played a pair of 2-2 ties against professional teams in the Caorlina RailHawks and the Charlotte Eagles.
Over the five games, the Demon Deacons were able to outscore their opponents 10-4.
