BETHESDA, Md. - Bill Haas was the hottest player in the field over the weekend at the AT&T National at the famed Congressional Country Club and picked up his fifth career victory with a final round 66.

Haas made 15 birdies over the final two rounds, the most of anyone in the field, and pulled-away down the stretch for a three-shot victory over Roberto Castro. Haas carded rounds of 70-68-68-66 and finished at 12-under par.

After opening with a 70 on Thursday, the 2004 Wake Forest graduate vaulted himself into the top-10 with a second round 68 on Friday. On moving day, Haas offset a triple-bogey seven at the par-4 11th with nine birdies en route to another 3-under 68. He went into the final round in a four-way tie for the lead at 2-under par.

After bogeying the fifth hole on Sunday, Haas made three-straight birdies at numbers eight, nine and ten to grab a one-shot lead. Another birdie at the par-4 14th pushed the lead up to two shots over his playing partner Castro. He then knocked his approach to the long par-5 16th to within a foot to widen his lead to three shots at 12-under par.

The victory was Haas' first of the season and the first since he won the Northern Trust Open in February of 2012. Haas now has eight top-10 finishes in 16 events this year and he has risen to seventh in the current FedEx Cup standings.
