WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest seniors Katie Stengel and Aubrey Bledsoe were named to Top Drawer Soccer's Preseason Best XI Teams on the heels of their 2012 seasons that saw them both earn All-America honors.
Stengel, Wake Forest's all-time leading scorer, was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Best XI Second Team, and Bledsoe, the Demon Deacons' all-time shutouts leader, was named to the third team.
Stengel holds Wake Forest's career and single-season goal and point scoring records and is the first three-time All-American in program history. Bledsoe, the first Wake Forest goalkeeper to earn All-America honors, has the program's lowest goals against average.
Both senior co-captains are expected to be primary components of this year's Wake Forest team. The Demon Deacons begin the 2013 season on Aug. 23 with a home game against Kentucky at 6:30 p.m.
