WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's soccer team took to the practice field for the first time of the 2013 season on Wednesday morning at the practice fields adjacent to Spry Stadium.
The Demon Deacons will have their second practice of the season later tonight at 6 p.m.
"It's really great to get back out there. We've been working hard all summer and through the spring," said senior Andy Lubahn. "Everybody is really excited, and you could see it in the amount of energy that was put out today. There were really good attitudes all around, so it was a good day."
Wake Forest is coming off a season that ended with an 11-4-5 record and a Second Round appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Demon Deacons also finished third in the ACC by posting a 4-1-3 conference record.
The Deacs will play their first preseason match on Saturday at Campbell at 7 p.m. The team's final preseason tuneup will come on August 24 at home against Furman at 7 p.m. Wake Forest opens the regular season on August 30 at home against Coastal Carolina at 8 p.m.
