WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest forward Katie Stengel was named to Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week after totaling seven points in wins over Kentucky and Alabama last week, including a school record-tying three assists against the Wildcats.
The three-time All-America assisted on all three goals in the Demon Deacons' 3-1 win over the Wildcats Friday, becoming only the third player in school history to put on a three-assist performance. Stengel followed that up with two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 victory against the Crimson Tide Sunday.
Stengel is Wake Forest's all-time leading scorer with 46 career goals and 112 career points.
The 15th-ranked Demon Deacons will host the Wake Forest Invitational at Spry Stadium this weekend, taking on North Texas on Friday at 6 p.m. and Louisville Sunday at 2 p.m.
