- Senior Thomas Birdsey was led the team in the first event of the year at the Carpet Capital with a 12th place finish after rounds of 77-70-69.
- That was Birdsey's first back-to-back rounds under-par since the Golfweek Conference Challenge last season.
- The Deacons finished seventh in the season-opening Carpet Capital after a final round 4-under 284.
- Wake Forest started three freshmen at the season-opening Carpet Capital in Clancy Waugh, Danny Guise and Woody Woodward.
