Last Time Out
Wake Forest dominated the play in the team's first-ever meeting against Pitt, defeating the Panthers 2-0 on the road on Saturday night.
The Demon Deacons outshot the Panthers 23-6, including a 10-1 advantage in the first half alone.
Michael Gamble got the Deacs on the board in the eighth minute on an assist from Luca Gimenez.
Gamble then assisted on Andy Lubahn's goal in the 12th minute.
Alec Ferrell made three saves in goal and earned his second shutout of the season.
The win put Wake Forest atop the ACC standings by itself, as the Deacs are the only team with nine points through three conference games.
VCU Notes
VCU lost to Coastal Carolina 1-0 in its last outing after giving up a goal to the Chanticleers just 56 seconds into the game.
The Rams defeated Maryland 3-2 and Akron 1-0 earlier in the season, both of which are Wake Forest opponents this season as well.
Kharlton Belmar and Devon Fisher have both scored two goals for VCU to lead the way, while Jose Manel and Juan Monge Solano each have two assists.
Andrew Wells has played every minute in goal, saving 23 shots and posting a 1.29 goals against average.
Series History
Wake Forest has never lost to VCU, owning a 4-0-2 all-time record against the Rams. That record includes a 2-0-2 for the Demon Deacons at Spry Stadium.
The Deacs defeated the Rams 2-1 in the last meeting on Aug. 29, 2008 at the Nike Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C. Austin da Luz and Marcus Tracy provided the Wake Forest goals.
