Men's Golf Ready For Pinehurst No. 2

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's golf team will play in the Payne Stewart Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the famed Pinehurst No. 2.
The event will be a 36-hole, one day shootout. A total of 16 players will compete, nine from Wake Forest and seven from SMU.
This is the second year of the Payne Stewart Invitational. It was founded last year as a match play event between Wake Forest and SMU, Stewart's alma mater. But heavy rain forced the cancellation of the event.
Playing for the Deacs on Tuesday will be Thomas Birdsey, Beau Cutts, Danny Guise, Cyrus Stewart, John Varol, Clancy Waugh, Andrew Winters, Davis Womble and Woody Woodward. There will be no live scoring for the event but check WakeForestSports.com for complete results at the end of the day.
